Sunny San Francisco, easily making the top of coolest cities
Clear blue skies and sun every day in the city, with foggy afternoons in the surrounding areas! Not too cold, not too hot, just requiring a hoodie at hand for the windy bays. Cats, you’ve made a wonderful decision to move in this corner of the world!
So far, I would put SF on the third place of perfect cities to live in, after Singapore and Sydney. Clean, crazy about health with lots of vegan or bio food, nice, cozy, colorful houses and apartments on the many hills, perfectly positioned on the coast quite in the middle of California, and loads of green, green, green! The birthplace of the most innovative ideas on the planet! And with unlimited job opportunities for young professionals, especially in the IT and project management. However, it does have a real problem with the increasing number of homeless people which have invaded the city center.
Except from wandering around the well-known places such as Pier 39 (where we’ve seen sea elephants), the Coit tower, the Lombard street, MOMA SF (which is really worth a visit), Chinatown, Golden Gate and so on, the Cats took us to some different events. First, “Party at the museum”, a cool Thursday night concept organized at the California Accademy of Sciences where we had drinks and live music while learning about sea life or plants. Maybe we should think about taking the concept back home? Second, the “traditional” American stand-up comedy show in a bar. It was very funny!
That was San Francisco and we loved it!
As we hear and read all the time about the Silicon Valley, we also made a one day tour of the area, but it was quite disappointing. There is not much to see, except some buildings and logos (Tesla, Google, Apple, Facebook, HP etc) and you cannot have the opportunity to get inside. However, we truly liked the Stamford campus and NASA Ames Research Center (where we got to see some real pieces of space exploration history)…, but all in all, it did not worth spending a full day in the area.
