First settled by the Portuguese in the 17^th century, Paraty is a historic coastal town in the South of Rio de Janeiro. We liked it from the very first moment we arrived: old churches, cobbled streets, well maintained colonial architecture, small colorful boutiques at every corner…a pleasure to wander the streets just taking photos and smiling to locals.

Due to the cloudy weather, we were quite lazy during the 3 days spent in the town, doing nothing but reading, surfing the internet and walking, walking, walking…we just could not get enough of the white houses with doors and windows colored in yellow, green, blue, red, orange, of the multicolor happy boats and of the chic boutiques full of funny handcrafts. Colors and puppets…just like in a fairytale.
