Crazy fun day at Dreamworld
“Happiness is Australia’s biggest theme park”! This is Dreamworld’s logo and they are right! I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing like a child the whole day. Adventure, water fun, small zoo, ancient race cars expo, Dreamworld is all in one place.
We arrived there in the very morning, so we were the first adventurers to enter the park. It was a great sensation to have it just for us for a few minutes. We had a quick start in “The claw” – swinging 75 km/h while spinning 360 degrees – and continued with the “Hot wheel sidewinder” – 100 km/h rollercoaster. After a few big thrill rides we moved to the waterpark for 2 hours full of fun fun fun! Besides the classical water rides like in other any park, I discovered here a new water adventure, “The Rip”, 12 m of pitch back terror before blasting into a massive bowl. We finished, of course, with the 120m free fall. This still scares me even if I’ve done it several times in different parks.
Full of energy and joy, our real adventure was just to begin. We wanted to reach Brisbane that evening, but we had no idea about how to get there. It was the perfect time to start our hitch hiking experience. We asked a lady that was selling toys for a paper, she gave us the back of a box, we wrote “Brisbane” on it and went to the parking exit. We had a car in few minutes!!! 4×4, woman, leaving half way to Brisbane! She left us on the highway. We’ve got a new car in less than 2 minutes!!! So we reached our accommodation very fast, with cool cars and free. Lucky bastards!
But that was too much stress…ha ha! So we went out to look for a relaxing place for dinner. 10 minutes walk and we accidentally discovered Jamie’s Italian, a place where people book weeks in advance. We walked in and managed to get a table, even with our backpackers look and feel. Isn’t this good karma?
