In the southern Brazil at the Atlantic Ocean, the capital of Santa Catarina state lays itself on a beautiful island with more than 40 unspoiled beaches. The city center itself is not very impressive and even though many buildings have nice architecture and are beautifully colored, only few are well maintained.

However, Florianopolis is all about beaches, hundreds of kilometers of white sand beaches for any taste: with big waves for surfing lovers, with calm waters for swimming, more or less crowded, with lots of terraces or almost wild, they enchanted us with their natural, unspoiled beauty. If the sand of the beaches is not enough, they also have huge sand dunes inside the land, on which you can even rent a snowboard to do… sandboarding!

For three days we did nothing but just relaxing and driving around from one beach to another passing through small fishing villages with many oysters farms. Of course we could not miss the chance to taste some fresh ones and they were absolutely delicious.

All in all we enjoyed it, but we decided it was not a proper destination for The Zeb and The Bear as they need more action, more things to do, to discover, to learn. Lying on beaches for hours is not their thing at all!
