…or at least this was the feeling when we first arrived on Koh Rong Sanloem, a 9 km long and 5 km wide Cambodian island. We just couldn’t believe our eyes! The picture in front was out of this world! Imagine getting off the boat directly on a white sand beach surrounded by the jungle, with no roads, no cars, no scooters, no bikes…where the only accommodation options are reed cottages surrounded by flowers or hammocks and where electricity is available just few hours after 6 pm!

This utterly serene and beautiful island is a small corner of paradise: calm, clear water laps lazily on idyllic white sand beaches, just a hand of people and not much else to do but kick back and enjoy the sun, sand and waves from a hammock above the sea, have a glass of wine, read a book or just listen to the silence.

But you know us! How long could we resist in such a peaceful place?…
